This Seto porcelain incense tray carries 850 years of history and reflects the Tamba tachikui pottery tradition from the Imada district of Sasayama City, Hyogo, Japan. During firing, pine wood fuels a climbing kiln for approximately 60 hours at about 1300°C; the wood turns to ash and is sprinkled on the piece, creating a chemical reaction that melts with the clay and glaze to form the tray’s unique texture and finish.
Material: Glazed porcelain. Made in: Japan.
